Haven't posted here in a bit! Really need to take some time out to indulge my interests.

Anyway, I'm looking for ideas and scripts for a play my aunt's school wants to do and I can't seem to find any free scripts online.
If anyone has access to scripts like Annie, Oliver Twist, The Sound of Music etc I would really appreciate if you could share them. I'm also open to ideas for plays. It's for 2nd and 3rd grade and there are about 150-200 students that need to be included (this includes the choir which I'm guessing will be pretty big).

Thanks in advance!

Annie would be a good choice but dunno if the scripts are available for it.

You might need to order something and then photocopy it. I don't know if that's within your budget but it might be your best option.

the likes of those you wont find for free online. you best bet would maybe to inquire at a neighbouring school if they had a script for one of these adn it it would be possible to borrow one and maybe copy it.

I think there's a site called starlight or something? And they have scripts for things there, children's plays like robin hood.

I've never heard of more recent play scripts being legally available online for free. I found a handy PDF about staging productions and permissions etc which I've attached a link at the bottom of this post.

I also found these little snippets of info from eHow.com:
Tips & Warnings
- A trip to the drama section at your local library can be the best starting point for finding plays with which you may be unfamiliar.
- Plays written before 1923 are in the public domain, meaning that no licensing is necessary.
- You may consider writing your own play or adapting another story if you are unable to find a play that you feel is appropriate.
- Many school drama teachers prefer using plays that have been made into movies so that they can offer their students a point of comparison as they develop their approach to a specific role.
- If you are planning to stage multiple plays over a year, consider choosing plays that have shared themes or characteristics.
- It can be expensive to buy scripts for each actor, but you are not legally able to photocopy scripts unless you select a play in the public domain or have permission.

Best of luck!
