Hi guys!

I recently reached a decision that forums are generally a complete waste of bandwidth and have retired from all of the other ones I've posted in over the past 10 years.

The single exception is this forum, which is why I'm posting this! You've created something unique - a classy site, full of information and shared by people whose main trait is a love of the written word. I well and truly take my hat off to you!

Some of these questions may have been covered before, so just point me to the right place if it has.

I see you have pretty useful visitor stats - assuming Alexa is somewhere near right. Clear drop in numbers right now, which I imagine relates to school holidays in the northern hemisphere. Is there a long term trend of growth?

I see lots of visitors ex-China, yet I see few Chinese members. Has any thought been given to "cashing in" on Chinese membership? Maybe a help forum - in English - where we could help with expression/idiom?

Have you got a plan for increasing the membership? If so, is this something we can discuss?

I find the format one which could be a little intimidating for n00bs - are you open to changes?

Hope it's ok to discuss this stuff.

Cheers

(Edit: oh yeah - I'd wondered why you don't have LitNet.com. Now I see why. Some people just make me sick. Al least his Alexa ranking is only 8,000,000 places lower than you. :D)

Forum growth is steady and long term, future plans include adding more content and features. If you want to help the site grow, tell your friends, link to it from your facebook profile, etc.

I certainly tell anyone I can! (not that I have a Facebook profile, but I will link to this from some of my own websites - a couple of which have fairly solid traffic themselves.

Have you considered doing an e mail around schools to alert them to this place as a learning resource? I'm sure lots are aware of it, but I know it's under-utilised by people on the bottom half of the planet. I'd happily spread the word around here if you like.

I certainly tell anyone I can! So do I, because this place deserves recognition.

I share my forum time between the LitNet and a work related forum. They share the same qualities: Well maintained, active sites with good moderators and well behaved and bright members. :thumbs_up

Having seen many related sites to 'Literature', this one has always been my favourite!
In school, whenever a colleague asks me to provide him/her with a good site, I unconsciously give them this one because I know after they browse it, they will love it especially if they were interested in learning more than what they study at school.

Though I see no need to change anything, good features may be great as well.
