Man Against Nature, 2008

They want to euthanize the wild horses that live in the West,
Don’t they recall that we rode in on one?
They say the herds are too big, so we think it best
What else will they destroy before it’s over and done?
Will they sell prime grade A horsemeat in the stores,
Right on aisle three beside the stacks of canned dolphin?
Will they decide that pets are a nuisance, a real eyesore,
And start selling their flesh packaged in flashy tins?
Will they raze Mt. Rushmore to drill for oil along with the shore,
Cut down all the forests for shopping centers?
Until nothing survives that shows how we were before
Back in the days when we the people were just beginners?
Better save your pictures that you take of sights:
They might just not be there one of these nights…

As long as we keep wanting it they'll keep doing it and as long as they keep doing it we'll keep wanting it. More more more.

Good questions and advice from you and many others here today.
Nice job Pen.

One only has to re-call the death scene of Edward G. Robinson in "Soylent Green". The movies of vanished fauna and flora, accompanied by the evocative music of Vengalis, to arrive at the depressing, probable answer...

This is a historic sequence. I like the stuff in it.

Wisely put, Pen. What a corner we've worked ourselves into with greed and indifference.
