Thank you very much all of you for your good wishes and the gifts. You seem to know that I love balloons (perhaps they could replace the plane I'm flying to Turkey with on Sunday?? Tickets are pricey nowadays!) and that I love books (how on earth did you hit upon that? And yes, you're welcome, sofia - if you let me take them to the beach first. :D ) and that I love cakes. Yummy!

Seems to be a Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte - Blackforest cherry cake. I identified the things on the cake as cherries and grated chocolate. You would love it, Scheherazade! And very thoughtful of you, papaya, to find a German cake for me. :thumbs_up

Hira and Niamh - the number of candles on your cakes is flattering. I feel young again. :D


And yes, I had a wonderful day. I removed all my books :eek2: from my study, packed them in boxes and took them to the livingroom. That's what I've been doing for the last three days - and in the heat, too! But I think I lost some weight, that's a nice side effect. :) We're going to redecorate the study as soon as we're back from Turkey. We'll have to diconnect the computer, too, so I'll be offline for three or four weeks from Sunday on.
