Wild Wolf

Death,
I await your call,
Am I afraid of you, yes and no
Yes in the meaning of not knowing what joys I will still have
No, in the sorry I have felt and caused others

Death,
I await your call
Are you near or far
That I am not for certain
But wherever you are
I am here waiting for the final curtain

Death,
I await your call
What must I do to live again?
How should I go about my life
All unknown

Death,
I await your call
Is there life after death?
Of this I am uncertain
Having beaten you once, Death, while in your clutches
Only being able to withstand you and live

Death,
I await your call
Am I afraid? I ask again
No, why if I know I can beat you
I have done before and I will again
Why did you not take me when you had the chance?

Death,
I await your call
Asking to see you again is something I must
For it is then that I will see where I am
Have I answered what was asked of me?

Death,
I await you call
What was it I was to do…
Rekindle relationships with family
Assist friends in times of need
Find the love of my life

Death,
I await your call
Of these three asked of me
I have only completed two
Love has eluded my like I have you

Death,
I await your call
Are you the one whom I am supposed to find?
I will not run to you
You must find me
Then we can be together again and see…

Welcome to the forum "Wild Wolf"

You ask some weighty questions, which lurk behind a door which, when opened, entered through and re-locked, the key turns to dust!

Thank you for your response. This just came to me and I am trying to turn it into my first of hopefully many poems. Do you have any suggestions?

Wild Wolf, it seems a little wild to me, your syntax. Because you begin each stanza the same I guess I wanted the remainder of each stanza to follow through, the same number of lines, so that it looks good on the page as well as reads well. I love to read poems aloud and I stumbled in places. Do you think you meant to use sorrow instead of sorry?
Now, please understand, I know nothing and I never give suggestions. Why I started now, I have no idea. I really like the questions you raise and yes, welcome, welcome. Write some more.
