Hi I found this in my daughters notebook after we had walk through a cemetary. She said she was bored and just wrote it.
I just want to know what others think.
We seen the cradle stone but not the others she talks of.
She 15 yrs old
I visited a cemetary today>
I thought nothing of it, just going to see some old stones, Right!
I thought I was gonna get a general idea of what most common markers looked like, but instead, I walked through an endless (or it seemed) valley of cold, grey, crosses and small squares no longer then a bread box.
It was quiet and the air was still, but yet I could feel the howling winds of sadness and sorrow, heartbreak and relief. I dont know where the feelings came from, but they were to strong to just completely throw aside.
I continued walking, one slow baby step at a time.
" Laura Phillips, Age 85 " before the heavenly angels took her home to the gloryland.
"Trinity Fairheart Age 36" Loving mother of 4 boys. She will be deeply missed. A tear blurred my eyes as I started to envision each of them, Mrs Phillips in her rocking chair, holding the hand of her husband, will they watch the 10 oclock news before heading to bed or maybe even Mrs Fairheart, playing with her 2 youngest boys in the sandbox while the older 2 were at a bbq.
But really what made me start thinking was when I came across a towering pine behind a pure black stone. The pine bending down to wipe the dirt that covered the writing that had been etched.
"Jason Glass Age17" before being whisked away by the good lord. The date that was carved stated "2007"! He was only 2 years older then me. I started to back away from the very new gravestone, only to trip over, wait , what , is that a stone crib? Scambling to my feet, I read the inscription, Rosa Clemitine Age 1 week. and thats all it said. I ran to my bike and sat because thats all i could do.
All I could think was "Be greatful, not just for friends or family, but also for the simple fact you are alive.
Thanxs for reading
