Enter the Night
The Night is a temptress with flowing dark hair,
Encircled by a wreath of bright planets and stars
I’ve found comfort at times, just knowing she’s there
To enfold me and hold me in her dusky arms.
The moon hangs as a earring upon a dark ear,
The sparkle of starlight a gleam in her eyes.
Her rings surround planets upon fingers that span hemispheres,
Her speckled cloak fills the midnight skies.
She walks and the ocean is no bar to her feet,
She dances above the waves as surefooted as on land.
Worshiped by some, she makes others complete
To know the soft touch of cool air on their skin.
My precious lady, I now must bid you adieu:
But come the sunset I shall be looking for you…
