i remember when we
were family...

now i watch you bleed.
i have finally begun
to mend
but here you are:
a newly stripped,
breathing cadaver,
raw and vulnerable,
living but flayed by life.

and i wonder how your
family could throw you
away like you threw me-

as if we're all stuffed toys
and don't mean a damn thing
to anyone anywhere anyhow.

Beautiful imagery, amuse, and the poem's abstract descriptions sound loud. I always look forward to reading your work, and I love the 'blog,' whatever that means, anyway.
Keep up the good work!

Ash, I'm just wondering why you still post in here, I mean I thought you already use the new posting system 100% ;). I don't post anything again in the literature forum, but only in the online-poetry for members ;)

thanks mono :) glad you like it, and am still getting the hang of it. now that school's out i'm going to try to do the day-to-day thing, mentioning news and food and personal goings-on.
i'd never heard of a blog 'til this spring, our media book mentioned them, and then all of a sudden i read about chocolateandzucchini on yahoo, and found them spicy and fascinating. it's short for "web log."

i'm glad you like the abstractions...the cadaver image had been running through my head since last weekend, i felt as raw as one, and the stuffed toy thing came to mind earlier today. hadn't expected to find them together, though. and i didn't ever expect to see my ex go through hell.
