View Full Version : Fellow journeyers...

Fellow journeyers through this
twice-twisted rain-and-sleet-forest
where the sun of love scarcely penetrates
and the jungle creatures, large
and small, have sharp,
well-honed teeth, fellow journeyers,
beware! the next one to whom
you offer love or who seems
to offer it to you, may be the last!

His or her wide gaping jaws,
the moist hot-pink interior of it,
may be the last things you will ever see!
And you will go down
easily; you will be but one
quick appetizer
in a vast, yawning smorgasbord
laid out for him or her...

This is excellent, Princey-Shou. This is scary, made me think of the Little Red Riding Hood, see? This is the terrible thing about love, how you yearn for it even though it might destroy you. Ugh! :(

Nothing ventured,
then nothing gained.
Fresh chalked, sidewalk pictures
then comes the rain!

Either that or you just yearn for destruction.

I like the way you captured this in such raw feeling language without it being overstated or corny.

It made me think of those gazelles out on a savanna that graze and gazelle about, all the time knowing the lions over there under the tree will soon be hungry again.

Ooo, "fresh chalked, sidewalk pictures, then comes the rain" and "gazelles out on a savanna that graze and gazelle about, all the time knowing the lions over there under the tree will soon be hungry again". Wonderful, image-filled comments to a wonderful image-filled poem. I had glimmers of the latest Indiana Jones movie, which I loved.

Great use of language, just enough to tell the story properly with subtle nuances of darkness! :) :thumbs_up

Well, of course, darling niece, we each have our unique ways of loving, but if some substantial part of your heart is not at risk, then it's more like tiddley-winks, isn't it?

We tiddley-winks each day,
and we still love ourselves.

I'm trying to keep my love,
it's dangerous...
Tiddley-winks keeps me alive. It's no dangerous game but every game
could be...

Maybe it's MORE dangerous to not fall in love,
maybe no matter how hard you try to NOT fall in love (for the danger, for the danger you lovelove soso Muchmuch) you will always inevitably fall in love with someTHING
like the idea of falling in love, the idea of NOT falling in love,
or the idea of the danger of any of the above,
or the idea of danger (with or without love).

YUMMY =)

*goes out to fall in love and fu.ck it up*

A great response all in all but
Maybe it's MORE dangerous to not fall in love seemed especially wise to me! Thanks.

No! Or if I might put it some other way, No!

I wonder if anyone has ever said no to themselves,
and read it as a yes.

mitigating factor?

Interesting observation. Can you provide anything from your own experience?

Of course,
all of the time I provide explanations.
Guilt is in everything - so we turn the 'image' into another one that represents the same thing, thereby saying no and yes at the same time.
But that's just one thingy...

I don't usually let people watch...
explain for yourself. :):)
