Bad Luck…


It’s bad luck—
Friday the thirteenth,
Spilled the salt this morning
As a black cat crossed my path
While walking under a ladder
And stepping on a crack…

It’s bad luck—
Saw the new moon over my left shoulder,
Passing my wife on the staircase,
When the umbrella flew open indoors.
Breaking the hall mirror
While the dog howled for no reason…

It’s bad luck—
Crossed the table knifes at breakfast,
Dropped my boiled eggs
Spilled the pepper
And I saw a barn owl in full daylight
And I think I got out of bed left foot first…

It’s bad luck—
I put my shirt on wrong side out,
Hung my horseshoe upside down
Found a cold dead albatross
Saw an ambulance go by
And a bat flew through the house…

It’s bad luck—
I lit a candle but it blew out
Heard footsteps behind me in the room
Sneezed this morning, three times
Found a chain letter in my mailbox
There are 13 letters in my pseudonym Jonathan Blade

It’s BAD LUCK—
Thirteenth floor
Five leaf clover
Walking on a grave
Seeing one crow...
Is there any good luck out there today?

It’s bad luck—

As it was stated in Huck Finn, you need to know when bad luck's coming, but not good luck. "There are mighty few omens for good luck, mighty few." But having a hairy chest will mean you'll be rich, according to the book.
And did you know that hotels don't have 13th floors?
