"cruel present circumstance"

I've just had
elective, transplant surgery,
a brand new chocolate heart!
A present for my present love,
to chew on and break apart!

The one I had
was compromised,
a scant few moons ago,
and to wait for its full healing,
far too painful and too slow!

Man, I just got a knock in the head with "to wait for its full healing, (sorry, I just have to read that with a comma)Far too painful and too slow!" But that first stanza was like a helmet. Loved it.
