Hours spent alone drag by tediously
Shuffling forward minute by painful minute;
On and on, in a dull aching continuity.
Without you the days seem so dull:
A bland mixture of morbid grays
Scuffed occasionally with mournful blues
And a sad steak of black emptiness.

Without you a viscous gash has been torn into my heart,
The pain that oozes from it is raw and relentless;
It stings and burns and then throbs
Leaving in its awful wake a trail of tears;
Tears that dissolve my skin like acid
Eating into my very inner core,
A dead, hollow centre,
Echoing whispers of desperate loneliness…

Without you I am an invisible shadow…
I miss you, you know;
Somehow I still think of you
And in those moments of jeweled memory
The robe of monotony is lifted
And I can dance with you
Somewhere in a sweet fantasy
I am with you.

Too, too sad - but those last four lines (among several others) are very effective.

Love and companionsip, the greatest boons this world has to offer and the two things that leave us most open to pain and sorrow!

goldenrod.

There is really good imagination, and you wrote very penetratingly as to what exactly one feels after getting abandoned.
