Ok, my depressed mom is coming to visit and has instructed me to have a house filled with books she'll like. Her tastes have changed over the years but she really used to enjoy historical fiction with a happy ending. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

How about Lorna Doone by R D Blackmore? Its based around the Monmouth revolt in England. One of the characters was even a real person. It has a happy ending. :nod:

wait what do you mean by historical fiction, do you mena historical literature as it were or do you mean what libraries may shelve in historical fiction family sagas historical romances that kind of thing. because it does make a big differance.
