Encouragements

You blocks, you stones, you worse than senseless things,
Chock-full of mayhem, mischief, mistakes, and folly—
Your song is one that only a blackbird could sing,
With tones of deep disenchanted melancholy…
Why are you therefore fabulously foolish, pray?
Why the sorrowful countenances and weeping?
You seek to cause compassion every passing day—
Is there no solace to be obtained in sleeping?
Awake, for tomorrow has given way to today!
Fresh dreams, fresh opportunities! Carpe diem!
Forget the blackness and despair of yesterday!
There are great things to be had for those who dare to seize them!
Or you could just sit there on your cold, lazy duff
And just become stone: you are growing cold enough…

I liked it, Pen, the "belittling" part at the beginning and the encouragement in the latter part. :D

A little sermonette, I like, bursting forth with hope. A nice kick in the pants. ;)

Fiery, and piercing. you reached the deeper and truer realm wherein poetry can find a domain, a true domain indeed in point of fact.

Thank you!

I glad the encouragement part does come through, Amanda, I worried about that "belittling"! ;)

Sermonette, hmm, Lady Amp? Perhaps, perhaps! :) :p

Fiery, Blaze? I took a hint from your posts, perhaps! :)

Tiger, Goldenrod? Does Peter Parker write poetry? ;) :) :D
