Intrigue is my middle name.
My machinations,
Put Machiavelli to shame!

Daring, cunning, over-bold,
This spy, will not come in
From the cold!

Darkest shadows are my home,
And through them, I freely roam.
Full mask, or domino my disguise,
My forkéd tongue, dispensing lies!

Pure of heart I've never been,
I am that something, quite obscene!

Intrigue is my middle name,
Fire and brimstone,
From whence I came!

Bound to do the Devil's work,
Unwholesome action,
Never shirked!

At my master's beck and call.
For, in truth...

I hate you all!

The Gods of those
whose greatest thrill,
is the act of maiming
and the urge to kill,

Are figments, in a realm surreal,
distortions of a truer call,
constructs of the Devil,
to fool us all.

The one true God,
in His despair,
must survey this mischief
everywhere, and wonder if
it is worthwhile still,
to leave man with
his own free will.

That greatest gift
may be now the least,
for it was meant to separate,
man, from the beast.

and sometimes that separation seems to be narrowing faster and faster.
I liked your poem. The first one, I like, but I'm not sure about. I woke up at 3 a.m. and my mind is groggy....or groggier, I should say. ;)

I hope that you are getting enough sleep, as of late! Insomnia is a sapping malady...Look what it did to Lady Macbeth!
