Threescore

A deck of cards about to fall

Fragile ties, to all involved

I've tried in vain, to hold on tight

They slip away, I'm filled with fright

Honest fact that I believe

People, yes, they always leave



A mother's touch is always felt

Her sweet embrace, I'd never sell

My arms around her, she grows weak

Slowly falls, tears down my cheek

She forever lays, to rest in peace

Mom not owned, instead on lease



A friend since eight, together grew

A sister to me, through and through

Yet different trends, did both we follow

Dangerous sparks, came aglow

One ugly fight, she walked away

A second one to go astray



Feather-light were his kisses

Words spoken sweetly, his caress

I put my heart, into his hands

My list: "Mistakes", just then expands

Another lover, his eyes longed for

Just couldn't help but to explore



Trusting people I've done before

All mistakes done in threescore

My life was taken through twists and turns

And every time it's my heart that burns

Now, I have no choice, I must believe

People, yes, they always leave
