Speak to the child in your heart,
the one who still hungers for certitude,
for whom it is a sacred thing
that green be always green
and every Tuesday be followed
by Christmas...

It is a very sweet poem, Jer, even if something in what it tells bugs me but it still appeals to me at the same time. I guess there is something that bugs me in the very fact that what it says appeals to me...

Yes, I see the dilemma! Perhaps if there were nothing in it that bugged you it might NOT appeal to you, in which case the fact that it neither appealed to nor bugged you would mean - what?

I really like that poem! There IS something about it that makes one a little sad though too. Great job.

I didn't think of it that way as I wrote it or afterwards, but I can see that someone might think so. Could you think of it, perhaps, as an empathetic sadness? Sort of the mixture of pity and envy that experience might feel towards innocence?
