A couple of days ago, I watched the movie "Ps. I Love You." It was heart clenching and plainly beautiful. I'm thinking of buying the book at some book store and reading it, but before I do it, I'd like to have some of your (book wormers' ;) ) opinions. Should I just base my knowledge of the story on the movie and not bother reading it?

However, I did it with Pride & Prejudice. I saw the movie first and then read the book. And, astonishingly, I loved the book.

......... should I purchase the novel Ps. I Love You?

i've never read it but assume that the book will be better but longer than the film.

Reading the Wiki it seems like there are significant differences bewteen book and movie..

I saw LOTR before I read the books and I was very, very glad that I did--because it helped me keep everybody sraight in my mind. But then going back and watching the movies afterwards again- it was cool to understand more of the movie--and know what was left out and what was added on to the movie.
