(This poem was an assignment from my school; We had to write an ode to something in our everyday lives.)

ODE TO NOTHING
By Gaia Attardo.

Nothing's all around you
Nothing's always there
Nothing pulls the heartstrings
Like nothing's icy stare.

You are fond of nothing
But I guess that's nothing new;
Because when you are fond of nothing:
Then there's nothing fond of you.

I have here a page of nothing
ANd nothing you will read.
For when you are led by nothing
Then there's nothing you can lead.

This room is filled with nothing
Building's bursting at it's seams.
We will overflow with nothing:
All the nothings
of your dreams.

i LOVE this poem. it is so beautiful, something that i can't quite articulate resonates for me. this poem seems to say things i wanted to but couldn't. i especially love the repetition throughout, and the fact that because it is non-specific, the reader can really make it personal, and take from it what they want or need. i am excited to read more work from you...
