Hey Kids,

I need some movie recommendations. I'm looking for something fun and engrossing. Nothing too serious but at the same time a thriller would be good.

Heres what I like:

Dead Again
Sixth Sense
Star Wars
Star Trek
Mars Attacks
Scotland, PA

You want something old... new...?

Or borrowed? Or blue?

Or maybe a silver sixpence in your shoe?

:D

Old or new

I will have to borrow it. It doesn't need to be blue.

Silver is always good.

If you like animated movies you can try Ratatouille or Ice Age. I was just talking about Die Hard series so you can try that too. Transformers is a good one, Penelope...I'll try to think of more :D

Why not watch the Indiana Jones collection? And then go and watch the new one?

Watch "Weekend at Bernie's"? Or "War of the Roses"? Or one of Jack Lemmon - Walter Matthau movies?

Gattaca?

Gattaca was good! Re-watched it quite recently...

A thriller...I always get thriller and horror mixed up. One is gory and one is not? hmmm....

Anyway, for scary I'd suggest The Orphanage which is quite new but sooo good!!

What else....2 days is Paris (Julie Delpy) was quite fun and original

Notes on a scandal was another recent one I watched and recommend with Cate Blanchett and Judi Dench.

My recommendations, not so much the movies as much as certain names:

David Fincher - a great director,I've seen all of his movies and liked them all, apart from Zodiac but even that is 10x better than most of today's junk.

David Lynch - my favourite director.Everything is great, you can't go wrong with any of his movies,I suggest Blue Velvet.

Kevin Spacey - see Lynch, except Spacey is an actor(I suggest American Beauty,Se7en amongst many others).

Stanley Kubrick - need I say more? For instance,A Clockwork Orange(you may have read the book by Burgess).

Quentin Tarantino - I find his films fun to watch, starting from Reservoir Dogs, all the way to Kill Bill(I know he's had some business with that Sin City-like movie that came out about a year ago, can't remember the name, but I didn't see that one).

The Matrix trilogy - some may find these movies stupid, but I really liked them.

I've got Dreamcatcher on right now. I don't know if you'd like it though. I read the book first and so I watched the movie with that background. It's a really cool idea though - I'd like to meet duddits for sure.
