Great as always, Prince. I was one of the first people on this site to take an interest in your poems. Good job.

Oh, I like it...the way I like a a strange color, but I don't know why.

A comment on quality assurance?

Nah, if like me you get much of your TV news from CNN, then you see the same freaking commercials over and over and over again. So this is just my attempt at a bit of satirical revenge on them.

And a nice colorful revenge it is. Though your poem is not about telemarketers I was still reminded of how my husband used to listen to their spiel and then ask, "Is it free?" It almost always made them stumble and he would chuckle and hang up.

And I'm giving everything away, so I have nothing.

Is that how you feel -
spare the rod and spoil the child,
spare self-castigation and deprive yourself of everything else?

Love yourself so much that you
no longer
want anyone in, to the point of reappraisal, to the point that you become their replacement... no matter who they are.

Receiving nothing in the mail is like waiting for love from strangers who represent what you're not getting in the mail from those you know.

Funny how nothing can double up, because there's not really nothing...
If there was nothing it would go unregistered and wouldn't exist to comment on it,
for your discourse and commentary.

Anywayssss... my thoughts (once again).

Jodi

Hello?
Hello, am I speaking with Mrs Ample?
That's Ampoule.
Sorry! Mrs Ampoule, I’m calling on behalf of The Company...
Which company?
The Company and for a limited time only, we’re offering Eternal Life.
Is that “eternal life” or for a limited time?
Er, which would you prefer?
I’d prefer that you not call me.
But, Mrs Ample...
Ampoule.
Sorry, Mrs Ampoule. But wouldn’t you like eternal life?
For a limited time!
Well, for how long would you like it?
Until I find true, true love!

And I'm giving everything away, so I have nothing.

But, just imagine: the difference between nothing and a little bit - even a very, very little bit - is enormous! greater even than the difference between a little bit and.... everything!

Seen in a store window on the way home from today's exam, whilst searching for a good pizza and a bottle of even better red wine:

"Free Half Price Voucher"

I think it would look good next to the sign I saw a couple weeks ago at the local "chippy" (aka fish & chip shop) which is run by a very nice Turkish family:

"Thank you for your custom"
