Hi. My name is kevin and im new here. Most people will look at me and assume i am nothing more than an ignorant racist hick. But i am much more. I love literature. I love to read a book, then go back and find all the symbols, alliterations, referances, underlying themes, and of course, the authors purpose. I joined this because i love discussing literature with people who share the same passion. And because most of the people i know and go to school with read Animal Farm and the only thought that crosses their mind is "this is fake, animals cant talk." Im 18 and i graduate high school in like 4 days. My favorite book is 1984 and respectively, my favorite author is George Orwell. And if i keep going on like this, this is gonna go on forever.
Anywho, i just wanted to introcude myself on a basic level to everyone. Please send me a message if you want to learn anything else about me (trust me, theres alot to me, im very complex and deep).

~kevin

Thats where ive spent the last three sleepless nights. I didnt even know about the general chat forums and such untill today. Honestly, im just happy to have somewhere where i can talk to people about literature and not be called a "fag" for saying something intelligent. Thank you.

Oh, no! That's awful! I am so sorry! :( That is just wrong.

Welcome to the forums, you will definitely not be called that here. :)

I figured i wouldnt. thank you.
PS: not everyone i know is that mindless and simple minded, but things like that happen alot. I guess no one really expects someone in a cowboy hat to say anything smarter than "damn black people." And they're always shocked when i do.

Welcome to the forums, you certainly sound like an interesting person to get to know... I've got a bit of a creative block right now (which is great because I've got so much art homework right now ) so I can't think of anything more, or anything interesting, to say at this current point of time... I thought I had a thought just then but I think I lost it now  Oh well, I look forward to perhaps getting to know you better, and honestly I am more of an interesting person when I can think of more to say :p

Whenever people talk about Australia and especially in the instances where they live somewhere else and are visiting here and they ask me if I like it here or something I reply along the lines of "Yeah it's an alright place". I'm not overly patriotic and for some reason it tends to shock people :p. No idea why. Also just a note, when most people think of Australia they think of the east side, like QLD and NSW with all the beaches and sun and surf and all, whereas I live on the complete other side, on the coast of the west side of the country. Still LOTS of beaches and all, but not the same reputation of the east side. What is it about Australia that makes you want to visit? Or do you just want to visit for the sake of visiting?

Oh, I forgot, the title of your thread made me laugh :p, I hear Dr. Nicks voice saying it everytime I read it!!!

im drawn to the vastness and emptness of the middle of it. I love that kind of thing. To wake up and know that you are alone for miles in each direction. I dont think im into the more urban parts.
I hear it too!

Wow thats good to hear because most people want to visit because of the beaches... So it's nice to hear a different reason!! :D

Do you have any other interests apart from literature? I spose the question is what are your other interests, because it would be kind of hard to be interested in one thing and one thing only wouldn't it?

Well right now I don't have time for much, due to school (I'm in year 11) and I have exams in a few weeks... Which is totally why I'm on LitNet and not doing homework and study  But I do art, if you check out the blogs and find mine theres a lot of my stuff posted in there if you're interested. Also I love reading (of course :p), black and white photography, and also I used to be really into filmmaking, until school got too busy. Our media group at school entered a short film festival last year and got 2nd place in our category. We lost to an actual film school, so we did pretty well. I also used to play netball, but I can't do sport anymore because I had 2 knee operations about a year and a half ago, when I was 14. So yeah I don't do all that much because school gets in the way

i know how you feel on that one. Im graduating high school in literally 3 days. the last few weeks have been a clusterf**k! Ya i saw your blog and love your pictures. especially the horse and the locust. And btw, you one of my "buddies" now. That media class sounds sweet! We dont have anything like that where i live. Congrats on second place! You must have been great if the only people who beat you were in an actual film school.

Thanks :) And thats awesome that you're graduating soon!! :D I'm eagerly awaiting my graduation, but I'm also really nervous, I've got no idea about what I'll do after it! (and it's not for like another year :p)
Yeah our class is pretty awesome, I'm doing media next year but so many of my friends are dropping it :(. I already dropped science this year and I have a feeling I'll be dropping maths next year. I just don't have the right mind for it
Yay we're buddies!! :D You're one of my buddies too now! :D

I have a feeling I should stop procrastinating doing my schoolwork, I have a lot of art to do, a Lit oral to prepare, and the list goes on and on and on ... Do you procrastinate or do you just do things when they should be done?

kevinthediltz

it really depends on what im doing. If its school work, i procrastinate but if its something i enjoy, i still put my heart into it. As for work work, i never procrastinate. When something has to be done it has to be done. Thats my philosophy. Well anyways, its 2 in the morn here and i need to get up to work at 5 so im gonna go do my best to sleep. Thanks for talking though.:) Cant wait to talk to you again!:D

~kevin

PS: go get your work done! its good for you!:thumbs_up

That's a pretty good philosophy. I'm pretty much the same, although, I'm meant to enjoy my schoolwork because I really like my classes, I love art but because I have to do it for school it's hard for me to get it done  It's a bit confusing :p

Wow its only like 4pm here, and I will go and do some homework done now :p

I tend to talk a lot so talking is no problem for me :p Also I laugh a lot, which is hard to put into words, so thats why I tend to put a lot of ""s into my posts!! I have an incredibly loud laugh :p

Well, I hope you sleep well and have a good day and we shall talk again soon :)
