Is there a limitation in the number of stanzas in writing a poem? If there is, how many?

Why on earth would there be limitations?
No, but some places have caps on the number of lines they will publish.

Poetry can not be confined within the number of stanzas

I'm not a poet but I understand that certain forms of poem can be quite strictly formed. Generally speaking though there is no reason a poem shouldn't be as long as you like.

There are restrictions according to the form the poet chooses; for instance, a sonnet has 14 lines, a villanelle generally 19.
If you are just beginning to write verse, it's probably best to keep the quanity of lines and stanzas low. Generally speaking, poetry is best when it's condensed or compressed.
Also, the problem with a "lengthy" poem is that it is not likely to be read.

i wouldn't read a long poem unless it was very interesting. i think there's a play by ts eliot that's in verse.

poetry is about expressing yourself without the everyday limitations and restrictions. some pu lishing companys will have limits. and i think a few contest have stanza limitations. but a poem can be as long as you want it to be. when it feels finished and complete with the message or emotion you want to convoy than stop. no matter if that is at 5stanzas or 30
All length limitations are in lines, because of editing space.
