I am trying to find the exact words and the source of an old English children's poem, which contained the following portions. Any leads would be appreciated.

In the corner of the orchard,
Lying on the mossy ground,
Little Suzie found an apple,
Rosy, ripe, red and round....

"Give us a bite," said Bill,
As she toddled to his side.
But she shook her head and pouted,
"No it's not for you," she cried.....

...Then cos' she was rather small,
Bill helped her up the garden wall...

...Billy cut it and they ate it,
Which goes to show that Sue
Wasn't selfish after all
Sitting on the garden wall.

I don't have it with me, but there is a book called "The Book of Virtues" that is basically an anthology of poems, short stories, essays, etc. that teach certain virtues (it contains some very good pieces of literature as well as historical pieces). This poem sounds vaguely familiar and I have a feeling you might find it in this book. Hope that helps!

And by the way, out of idle curiosity (and if it's not too nosy), is there a particular reason that you need to find this poem, or is it just something you've forgotten and want to read again? We all know what that's like...

Thank you for the information. It is just a poem that our mother recited to us as children. We recently lost her and I was trying to find the words to give to my sisters for Christmas.
I shall certainly look up the "Book of Virtues".
