Hi. =] I'm not really sure how I stumbled upon this place, but it seems like a nice little community. My name's Lindsey, but that was taken, so I had to settle for one of my favorite words/subjects/writing topics for a username. It seems that many people here are much older and more mature than I, as I'm only a mere sixteen years old, but I hope that won't be a problem. I've been writing short stories and poetry for a few years now, but I probably won't post any of it as I'm too intimidated by the work of others to do so. I'm rather timid in that respect, I suppose. Like almost any teenager, I have a deep love for music which adults most generally call noise.

I hope to be a novelist when I get older, and I'm not really sure how I can stress my passions for writing - the simplest way I can put it is that if I never become a published author I'll never be truly happy with myself or my life. I live in a very rural part of the United States, and so the atmosphere is wonderful for writing in my opinion; a great deal of culture and secluded surroundings. It's actually quite nice just to be alone and surrounded by forest at times, whereas it can also get annoying.

At any rate, hello. :D

Hey welcome on board :D You're gonna love it here. And you should totally share your writings, many people here will give you very useful feedbacks, and you can develop your writing skills.

I'll think about posting a short story, but I'm still not sure. I have the terrible tendency to keep things like that to myself, as I have the fear of failing or not being good enough at it. =S Perhaps that's a bit foolish on my part though, who knows.

Anyway, thank you both for welcoming me. =]

Welcome to the forums!! :) Your age wont be a problem at all, in fact there are quite a lot of teenagers... Including myself! :D I'm turning 16 a little later in the year. There are many kind and wonderful in these forums so when you feel confident and comfortable it'd be good if you'd post some of your stuff, as the people here are good at helping and giving criticism without being harsh, from what I've seen so far. And hopefully then you'll be able to conquer your fear of failing or not being good enough, which would be great :) I have the same thing to some extent, but it's not as bad for me because that's not what I want to do in life as a career... But I'm hoping to eventually get the guts to post something anyhow!! :D

Anyways, welcome to LitNet, it's great to have you here! :D

Hi to the two of you. :D

Hm... I suppose I will post something of mine. Hopefully it won't be too terrible - I'm trying to overcome that fear of mine, and so I suppose the only way to do so is to face it.

And yes, I like it here already. =]
