I would love go get some laundry done... and the dishes while I'm dreaming. I'll probably give my mom rose bushes and my mother-in-law a hanging basket- just like every year.

I am making gift baskets. It has turned out to be a lot more expensive than I thought it would be. I couldn't find any good ribbon at the dollar store so I was stuck paying premium prices for it and the craft store.
But, what I am doing is making little gift baskets for my mom, my mother in law and the woman that actually raised my husband, his aunt (weird I know). Anyway, I went to Crabtree and Evelyn and got some trial size soaps and lotions. My mom's gift basket has a blue theme so she got a Summer Hill hand therapy and some Face Cream (Day Cream and Night Cream) that came in blue pots. She is also getting a sachet that came in a blue pouch and a car airfreshener in ocean scent. She will probably get something else as well. My husband's mom is getting the pink basket, so she ended up with the Craptree and Evelyn Rosewater lotion and soap. Hope she likes the smell of roses. I don't particularly like the smell of roses, but what can you do. She is also getting some hand soap from Bath and Body Works and a pink sachet and a pink flowery car air freshener. My husband's aunt is getting the yellow basket. So far she has pineapple delight lotion and handsoap and a some summer hill bar soap, and a yellow sachet and some kind of car freshener - I forget exactly but the colors matched the rest of the stuff she's getting. My husband's task is to go to Wal-Mart or Hallmark or somewhere and find some mother's day trinket or charm bracelet or something to add to the basket so that it is not totally me doing all the work. he is not thrilled about this, but his mom is into that mother's day stuff and she will totally appreciate it, especially if he contributed to the basket and it wasn't just his wife doing all the work.
Oh, and I get to use my bowdabra again :D The only thing I am worried about is the ribbon I picked. The blue ribbon is sort of like a gingham. I am thinking it looks too baby showerish. Then again, it's the thought that counts. My mom knows about me and my bowdabra.

For those outside of America, Sunday is Mother's Day here. :) I don't know what to get my mother and mother-in-law either. I guess some flowers. :)

Mother's day here was March 21st...I got mom a watch :D and a ticket to a musical concert in the Opera (well my dad paid for that last one, but it was my idea :p).
Maybe you can take her/them out somewhere...or just do as I do and ask them what they want, instead of buying something they won't need just to keep it a suprise lol

I saw a mobile car 'detail' service today, and I thought I would adore that as a mother's day gift...clean my car please! and even better..make it an ongoing service, once a month for a year! please?

'Gift' cards that me and my sisters usually make- they say stuff like 'free living room cleaning' or 'free manicure' or 'mom's day off' and stuff... it's kind of lame, but my mom likes than better than gifts that are just for one day (well that's what she said anyways) and something else maybe. The hard part is getting my sisters to cooperate... and not burn the food.
