Raven's nice.... i like inventing my own names but sometimes thy're way to outlandish... anyone who can invent a good name is a genius in my book (that mostly includes TOlkien and a few others)

Really?! Oooh I might give that a try...some response would be good...critisms are great when writing a book...I've never showed anything i've written to anyone before...my friends just aren't into creative writing...or reading...that is why I cannot wait for Uni!

Yeah, really, if you write poems, there's a forum part dedicated to that, I think you could post (if you chose so) what you have of the book here, in general chat part as there's not prosaic part... yet (maybe there will be in the future, Admin plans to add the feature sometime if I understood, he now has a programmer working on a members' poetry ... thingy, lol, a sec, will give you a link)
looky here for the poetry thingy:

Thanks Jay! When I saw this Names thread I thought I was going to have to dig that one up too. I think that was one of the first ones I ever started, it was even before I got married! I still want Cosette for a girl (a couple more years down the road), but Leo hasn't really given me much feedback on that. If he hates it, he may be waiting to change my mind when the time comes.

I still haven't really connected with a boy's name though. Don Quixote and Huckleberry Finn are my favorite male characters, but the names just don't really hit me.

lol, Shea, NO, poor kids, NOT Don Quixote nor Huckleberry Finn, lol. Think Leo would deffinitely give feedback to those ones ;), and I don't think it'll be a positive one :p

I have not thought a lot about future children's names (if ever!), but the two main characters of a play (tragedy) I have yet to complete are Daphne and Mason; a few other characters' names: James, Phoebe, Margaret, Christopher, and Sappho.

Daphne is a beautiful name...
I think that Lilly would be a great name for a girl.
If I were to have a boy, Devon or Gage.

Could someone transcribe Gage into pronouncination? I mean, I have no idea how should one pronouce it. Thanks :)

Maybe like 'cage' but with a 'g' instead of 'c' in the begining?

Jay

Well, there are two kinds of pronouncing 'g'... like... 'Greg' g or 'gender' g... though if it's like 'cage' the first g would sound really odd 'gender' kinda g... thanks Scher :)
