I'm new to writing poetry, so any and all criticism is entirely welcome. :)
1
Light feigns honesty
Only in darkness
Does truth lie abeyant
It's magnitude oppressed only by evening's silence
Silence turns to screams, screams turn to silence
Righteous truth hides in Mothers cradle
Breathing steadily among mudded blood
Awaiting deceit to shroud the Earth with Father's light
Awaiting light to overcome the silent screaming night
2
He sits and he knows
He knows and he sits
Yet, in this perpetual moment
All he knows is sitting
Soon he knows the cracks in the floor
He knows his last modicum of hope
That is slipping through those fissures
He knows the tears burning his parched skin
Eating through his sallow flesh, staining his blood
He knows the spoken words
He knows regret's gaunt hand on his shoulder
He knows love
