I've read The Art of the Personal Essay and I loved it. I'm just not sure where to go from here. What are some well known personal essays?

I too have The Art of the Personal Essay. I can't say I've read it through, but I have glanced through it, at least I did several years ago when it came out. It's a fine collecton of an under appreciated art form. I'm not sure I can recommend any other, except some of D.H. Lawrence's essays. His good ones are mostly travel related: Twilight in Italy and Other Essays (1916), Sea and Sardinia (1921), Mornings in Mexico (1927), Sketches of Etruscan Places and other Italian essays (1932).

Virginia Woolf is fantastic. Try The Death of the Moth anthology.
