“No!” screamed Virginia as she leapt out of her seat. Her tangled golden blond hair flew around her face as her dark brown eyes bulged out of her face. “No! Please…understand…no!” She looked at a judge sitting high above her before looking over at Geoffrey as he sat at a table. He looked over at her with his haunting blue eyes. “He wants to hurt me! I swear! He has been following me, taking pictu…”

“Please Virginia, please take a seat and stop making a fool of yourself,” ordered the judge and Virginia stumbled back into her seat. She started to tremble as she looked over at Geoffrey again meeting his eyes. Virginia twisted strands of her hair. “You signed a contract. Geoffrey you are dismissed, please wait Virginia.”

Smiling, Geoffrey stood up glancing at Virginia. “Virginia, I can always find a new person,” he told her. Then he nodded to the judge before leaving. Virginia buried her face against her knees as Geoffrey looked back once at her before leaving the courtroom. Outside, he picked up his pace walking straight home to his apartment. He trudged up seven flights of stairs before finally arriving to his room.

Geoffrey took out his key quickly slipping it in, unlocking the door before stepping inside. He closed the door behind him as a grin devoured his face. In dim light, pictures of Virginia glowed on the walls there was not a single blank spot. Laughing, Geoffrey stalked across the room stepping on a plastic tarp that covered the floor. He grabbed onto a camera with a long lens before standing by a window looking out across the street through the scope. Virginia frantically walked down the street like a whirlwind; she spun around looking all over the place. She sprinted into an apartment building briefly disappearing but then Geoffrey caught sight of her again. He could see right into her apartment through a window facing him. Virginia paused before stepping inside and then she walked all the way inside grabbing onto a phone.

Swiftly, Geoffrey put his camera down as Virginia started to call somebody. He backed away toward a CD player hitting play and turned the volume all the way up. Then he ran across the room to the bathroom turning the shower on at full blast. With great speed, he was out the door running across the street and waiting. Virginia came to the doors of the apartment building looking out before stepping outside. She clutched a cell phone to her ear talking to somebody when Geoffrey came over grabbing onto her. Only muffled screams could be heard as Geoffrey kept a hand over her mouth dragging her his apartment. He thrust her to the ground before slamming the door shut.

Virginia gripped her cell phone as she rolled over on the plastic tarp. She struggled to move her fingers on the keypad hitting nine, one, two then clear nine, one, one. The phone began to ring and ring and ring but before somebody answered; Geoffrey swiftly lunged at her grabbing her by the hair and pulled her to her feet. He tore the phone out of her hand before reaching into his pocket pulling out a knife. Before Virginia could even react he took the knife slashing it across her throat. The poor girl fell as crimson blood seeped out of the wound dripping onto the plastic tarp. Angrily, Geoffrey started to shout and began to tear the pictures of her off the wall.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door and Geoffrey hesitated looking at Virginia and the shredded pictures before running into the bathroom. Whoever was at the door continued to pound on it. Rolling his eyes Geoffrey called out, “give me a minute, in the shower!” He quickly stripped his clothes and jumped into the sprinkling water washing away any blood that found its way onto him. Then turning the shower off he yelled to the door again, “hold on!” Geoffrey grabbed clean clothes before rushing to the door, opening it, and stepped out closing the door behind him.

Before him stood a beautiful young lady who had long golden blond hair and gorgeous dark brown eyes. Geoffrey smiled at her as he leaned against his door. “I was just checking to make sure everything was alright, I heard somebody shouting,” started the lovely lady.

“Oh it’s nothing big, just killed somebody,” laughed Geoffrey, “I’m a serial killer, it’s my job.”

“I better watch out,” laughed the young lady, “keep an eye on my back.”

“Actually, it’s just the music,” replied Geoffrey, “you know sometimes you just really get into it. The one song really gets me pumped. The lyrics are perfect, ‘I want it now, I want it now, give me your heart and your soul and I’m breaking out, I’m breaking out, last chance to lose control.” He paused. “It’s a song by band called Muse. It’s ‘Hysteria’.”

“Sounds stalkerish,” giggled the lady. “Oh, by the way, I’m Mary and I just moved in down the hall from you.” She paused for a few seconds. “It gets a bit lonely there sometimes.”

“Mary, what a pretty name,” smiled Geoffrey, “I’m Geoffrey, like the author Geoffrey Chaucer.”

“I love that name! Did you know that Geoffrey means peace?”

“No-no…I didn’t…then again I am only a photographer.”

“Wow! A photographer! That’s so interesting!”

“You know, you are very, very pretty, you sort of remind me of my mother.”

“Is that a good thing?”

“It’s wonderful.” A malicious smile began to spread across his face as he spoke to Mary. “If you are the least bit interested, I am working on this one art project where I try to capture people in their everyday life…maybe you could help.”

“I’d love to!” exclaimed Mary. She jumped up and down clapping her hands together. “It’ll be so much fun!”

“Great-great that is just…wonderful.”

“Well give me a call if you ever need a model,” she laughed before making her way back to her apartment. Geoffrey took a few steps after her and Mary stopped turning to face him. “Yes?”

“Wait, please, just wait. Can I take one quick picture?” asked Geoffrey.

“Go ahead,” she giggled

“My camera is inside, wait for me out here,” he paused, “it’s a terrible mess.” Geoffrey then slightly opened the door slipping inside. He stepped over Virginia’s corpse to grab his camera by the window. Then he came back toward the door stepping over her again. Outside, Mary was still waiting for him as he lifted the camera. She smiled for him and Geoffrey quickly snapped a picture.

Creepy... I liked it very much! It was a bit confusing in the beginning, but I still liked it.
