On pages 203 and 204 of the Centennial edition, a discussion of memories brings into question the role of the past. If memories are denied, then does the past really exist? How could you prove the past?

If memories are denied, then does the past really exist?
No. If you don't anything about your past or what happened in it, how can you even be sure that it did exist? Where are your evidences?
How could you prove the past?
With your memories, things that are part of your of anyones past, books, pictures etc; anything that strongly confirmes that there was past.
