I was wondering if a section could be added to "Writing" specifically for Religious Writing. There is general writing, poetry and short stories but some people do not enjoy reading religious things while others love it. I enjoy writing my ideas about the Christian lectionary but it would be a place for ALL religions. Just a thought.

I posted this here because of its religious nature.
Thanks for considering.

Sounds like a good idea, but it would probably require popularity if it is to become a subforum. ;)

Would religion have to be the point of the writing, or just a strong theme? For instance, would something like "The Chosen" or "The Shoes of the Fisherman" fit in (ignoring the size of the works).

I'm not quite sure how to answer that. I guess for me it would be like writing an essay or message using a particular text from the bible, not necessarily discussion of a published book. I'm just afraid it would get inflammatory. Not my writing but comments people might make. It's probably not a good idea. Maybe I'll just do as DickZ suggests and post something and see what happens.

Oh come on, inflammatory comments are always fun. :p

But then again, it might not gain as much popularity because a lot of people are for some reason afraid of (or perhaps dislike?) inflammatory comments.

And I'm one of them. :D Really, I break out in hives when people start throwing the furniture. I'm such a Pollyanna.;)

I take religious writing here as a tool for critiquing all who take religions as a means to feud or dispute with one another. I believe we all have one religion and one God. Humanity and man.
