Refusing to be deterred by Part 1 going down like a lead balloon, I will not give up!!

So this time, it's:

Something Spectacular in my Vernacular

This does not have to just apply to language (despite what the title suggests). What do you like the most about where you live?

I like the fact that I can walk for 10 minutes from my house and get into the middle of a field. There's this one spot where you can't see the road or hear the traffic; it's really easy to imagine that no-one else exists - it's really lovely and peaceful.

However, that is not to say that I wish other people didn't exist. It's just nice to have a break now and again.

I'll do my bit to try and stop Part 2 going down like a lead balloon too :p... But it'll be hard since I've lived here my whole life and I don't like it all that much... But, I do like that there is parks and beaches nearby; and other various places where I can meet friends etc. Also I like that the ground is good for taking the dog for a run, it's pretty much flat all the way, and I'd hate to take that dog for a run on a hill!

But since I've struggled to think of happy thoughts about this place and I have a feeling those happy thoughts will probably sound forced (they sound forced to me!) I will list the good things I like about the place I'm planning to move to later in a few years:

It's absolutely beautiful, lots of trees and hills... and well yeah, from what I know it is a really beautiful place. I feel happy just thinking about it now! :D

I really like the way the city is layed out, here. There are two rivers running through the entire city, and parks EVERYWHERE!

It sounds wonderful to live by the beach!! Is it like Summer Bay in Home and Away? (Yes, I am a secret fan). Everyone always seems so happy there, and they're all really sporty and healthy!

And it's nice to have something to look forward to. I can't wait to go to university, because I'll be able to see the sea from the labs (although that'll probably be torture on a lovely sunny day!)

I'm still new to where I live (been here about a month) but there are so many things to love. Most importantly, I'm much closer to home. Living over seas was great, but it is nice to be back in the States. I also love how many different things there are to do around here; Land Between the Lakes is nearby for all the camping, hiking, etc., Nashville is less than an hour away for great music, and Chicago and St. Louis are just a few hours away for a bit of big city life. Now if only I was closer to the ocean...

I've never really thought about whether it's like Summer Bay  A definite plus is that we get to go to the beach a lot for school. For sport, like beach volleyball, and also for like end of term celebrations etc :D
