help-political satire

Hi,
I have been searching through my finals topics and I found a question about political satire..I am supposed to retell the plot of one and I chose The Animal Farm by Orwell. However I am not sure whether I will be able to talk about the history of political satire?! Can any of you please suggest any of these, typical for each period? It would be good with the author as well... please...thanx ;)

The Dialogue in Hell Between Machiavelli and Montesquieu by Joly is 19th century satire, Candide could be 17th and 18th century satire (Gulliver's travels also) and Animal Farm considers 20th century. There were also satirical works in ancient Rome and Greek, mostly poems but I am not sure about works or authors.
