Would you suggest one of the following dramatists to be my master thesis,namely his works:-

Henrick Ibsen
Samuel Beckett
Oscar Wilde
Eugene O'Neill
Bertolt Brecht

I would be very grateful to you if you suggest a new topic or ideology to discuss in the selected plays because this is going to be my master thesis.

What do you want to do? We are talking about an MA thesis here, a real big boys' game. Certainly you will not get this one on a plate. Start the discussion and we will see where it leads. Have you read these authors? If yes what do you find interesting in them?

Yes,you probably should read at least some plays by each of these authors,and first decide on what/who you like the most.For instance,if it were my thesis,I'd pick between Beckett and Brecht,because I like their plays the most and would enjoy writing about them and exploring ideas and concepts I think are important.However,you can't expect someone else to pick out a theme for you - you choose,based on your preferences,and then you discuss.

That's funny. One of the biggest things you will need to do in your life, and you ask us. How flattering, and how silly. Perhaps you may want to read those writers' works, then criticism of those works, and create a rational decision based on your personal aesthetic/academic desires. Or you could ask us, as you did, and I'll go with Ibsen.

I would recommend Bertolt Brecht if modern day politics if your interest. How he managed to escape the Nazis, post war Stalinist purges, and even HUAC persecution may be of interest to many. He was very enigmatic as well as artistic in his work.

His work was very popular in the USA during the 60s and early 70s. Somehow, there doesn't seem to be much interest nowadays but times may change yet again.
