Today I posted a letter
I heard it fall on the mat
And what will he say when he reads it?
And what will he feel when he reads it?

Today I broke my heart
And watched the arrow as it hit the mat
Now it is over, what then?
And if it is not, what then?

Today I walked away from sin
I didn't watch his face when he bent to the mat
Can a sin still hurt you once you've walked away?
Is it still a sin once you've walked away?

Too late perhaps to do that but if you could you need to correct the spelling of the title. I like the first two verses of this very much. They put me deep within the speaker's quandary but when "sin" entered the picture I was somewhat lost, a bit alienated from her as I had no way of knowing whether her concept of "sin" was one that had been derived from some thoughtful moral view of life or whether it was one that had been handed her by some church or other authority and swallowed thoughtlessly.
