Symphony
The soft sounds of my footsteps
On the damp brown earth I know
Is pleasant music to my ears and
It brings joy unto my soul.
The drum beat of my footfalls
Is always accompanied
By all the creatures in the wood
Although music they can’t read.
The chirping of the crickets,
The loud cawing of a crow,
I spot an armadillo rustling
Around in the brush below.
Thump, thump. I hear a rabbit.
Making music without words.
The swell of the stiff wind through the trees,
Joins a chorus of songbirds.
I hear a melodious voice,
As I pass quite near a brook.
A crash of leaves, and a squirrel appears
Sounds are everywhere I look.
There is music in nature
With the power to enthrall
Forming a masterpiece in tribute
To the master of us all.
The soft sounds of my footsteps
On the damp brown earth I know
Is pleasant music to my ears and
It brings joy unto my soul.
The drum beat of my footfalls
Is always accompanied
By all the creatures in the wood
Although music they can’t read.
The chirping of the crickets,
The loud cawing of a crow,
I spot an armadillo rustling
Around in the brush below.
Thump, thump. I hear a rabbit.
Making music without words.
The swell of the stiff wind through the trees,
Joins a chorus of songbirds.
I hear a melodious voice,
As I pass quite near a brook.
