Since I was born dreams wrapped me up
Now maybe I am in a dream
There is no criterion to say dream from reality
For I feel the same in both states

When we are awake we think at times all we have are illusions
In the like way in dreams I oftentimes know I am in a dream

I often wonder what may happen if I do not dream
Maybe I can not say this is reality with no dreams

If we lift a screen that takes dreams apart from realities

At the deepest level dream and reality live in sync

Mystics often confuse life with a dream

In the Vedas what we call reality is reckoned a dream
Comparing it with a string that is deluded as a serpent

Or the serpent in the rope is a reality
Or the rope in the serpent is a reality

I am not a know-er
I am not a finalist

I am a poet and live the way a poet does

A mimic and all I do is mimicry

Yet I can help racking my self for an answer
Even if I know I can never arrive at

For I am a dreamer
Knowing no line between dream and reality

Very thoughtful. I like the play on words in the beginning, and it is very true.

I think of the snake and the rope a lot. One time the thought crossed my mind, we should strangle the snake with the rope :) but this is of course nonsense. The snake and the rope is not nonsense, though. Another allegory or metaphor is that on our path, in the unknown, hidden growths off to the side there may be snakes to bite us and snare us; that is, problems that will snare us which we do not foresee. And perhaps there is a way so that they aren't able to hurt us.

I pick up trash at a local park. I am often confused by the snake and the twine or rope. The last snake I saw was playing in a stream. It wiggled and waved much as a piece of rope would in the wind or water

This is experienced and wise. of course my favorite part and how I have always viewed your poetry, Blaze, is:

I am not a know-er
I am not a finalist

The magnificent aspect about it is that the realities are infinite. However, one must be prepared to reliquish grounding in one. I would always advise to get a good grip before you let go.

Excellent poem.

I love the way you give yourself to speculation, and these lines

I am a poet and live the way a poet does

A mimic and all I do is mimicry

touched me deeply.
