Hello,
For my studies, I have to read the preface of the American by Henry James and just the preface, I'd like to know if it can be found somewhere ? I've found all but the preface!! :( Please, help me :idea:

If there is a preface, which I cannot find on google. Perhaps the preface is in the edition that your teacher told you to buy, which, as is clear, is a new edition, and therefore has a scholarly preface by some academic.

Strange that we don't have it here.
This will take you there straightaway: The Ladder - American Preface (http://www.henryjames.org.uk/prefaces/text02_inframe.htm).
You can read the majority of his works at the Ladder, including all of the Prefaces (they have their own seperate section), though I would in general advise looking for the LitNet version first, as the font at the Ladder is kind of ugly, and the text is full of hyperlinks.
