The only Solace

fingers sailing through her plaits
unwinding the featherlike hairdo
sweat shining black, adorned the neck
her eyes so serene, elated at this
inquisitive into mine, searching love?


her lips gleamed in the moonlight, and
a drizzle in the winter, a favour, was it?
soft the zephyr blows, the spine shudders,
a million words, in the silence, her eyes,
her whisper in my ear, warmth in disguise?


broken pieces of my heart, lay astray
some never found, others she took away
emptiness, I felt, abysmally deep,
dark and mystic, resembled her eyes,
stinging pain, is it her eternal stain?


My untold love kept me afloat, for
ages to come, I'll be there for her,
if not loved but to love, forever!
The heart has its reasons which reason knows not of
the waves never cease which reason now I know of!
