Nothing is certain but entropy and gravel,
For what we thought were boulders in the dawnlight
Have been chipped down to dust motes, floating in moonbeams.
It's surprising how much faith we put in a phrase
And that, when it inevitably crumbles,
We don't always expect the landslide it begins.

I will think of this one next time I walk on a beach.

It has the solidity of the granite it refers to, and the compactness adds to the monument-like authority of it.

These lines are charged with emotive ideas, here uncertainties prevailing over life and the works of man and their pettiness is really telling.
