has anyone ever read about all the references to alchemy and the philosopher's stone? the is a book simply titled "revelation" which showed how st. john took astrology ( 4 beings around the lamb), eastern principle of 7 stages of perfection/enlightenment (7 letters to asia..and a million more 7s), and alchemy (heaven is paved with gold, sig. of emerald, and the philosopher's stone to turn it to gold). anyone read this book or have a comment? very interesting.

The obvious big referencer of that is Harry Potter. However, I found that the Philosopher's Stone was also a big elements in Victor Hugo's "Hunchback of Notre Dame". Nicholas Flamel's stone proves to be the obsession of the stories main antagonist.

I tried to find this book. The one by Peter and Paul Lalonde seems to be a close-but-no-cigar match. Who is the author?
