i found a new world today
one of truth and happiness
one of pain and sorrow
where life can exists

for one moment
just a fraction of time
i seen heavens gates
gazing back at me

never have i seen such grace
something so extraordinarily serene
my humble words cannot express
those gentle eyes staring at me

I like it very much...only the one line that seems out of place to me is the third one. But that is me...yet true pain and sorrow are part of life. But in reading this I have gotten a drop of happiness today. So thank you for that.

Reminds me of Mercy Me's song "In the Blink of an Eye" a bit, Lucid, love that middle stanza! :)

Every line is stuffed with beauty

You wrote exactly what happens in love.

Lucid, this one is so beautiful... Especially the way the last paragraph sums up one of those feelings that is not easily put into words. Honestly, the word "humility" came to mind throughout the peice, so when I came to the line "my humble words cannot express those gentle eyes staring at me", I found it quite entertaining and I must admit that a smile came across my face (something that happens more and more these days for me). The whole thing left me with a warm, familiar feeling, like hugging your mom or wrapping yourself in a quilt in front of a fire after a long day working out in the snow. Quite excellent, old friend. This will probably be the um-teenth time I've said it, and you're probably getting sick of hearing it, but I abolutely LOVE the direction your poetry is going these days. Keep them coming, I'm definitely a member of the lucidnightmare fanclub! Peace- Chris
