Hello Everyone,
I need some help analyzing this poem.
These are the questions that need to be answered. I will appreciate it if anyone could help.

1. What do you predict from the title of the poem "Select Samaritan" ?
2. What's the theme of the poem?
3. Identify poetic devises used and suggest how they add to the poem's effectiveness.
4. Paraphrase the literal meaning of the poem.

Select Samaritan
By: Robert Finch

We think we might adopt two children and
The problem is to know which kind we want,
Not Canadians, Refugees, But they can't
Be Jewish. A Couple of Spaniards would be grand
If they were fair. My Husband hates dark hair.
Afraid they are mostly dark in any case.
Germans would do, we don't care about race.
Except Chinese, must draw the line somewhere.

So would you let us know soon as you could
What sort's available? We have a car
And would be glad to come and look them over
Whatever time you say. Poles might be good,
Of the right type. Fussy? Perhaps we are
But any kids we take will be in clover.

I have enough homework of my own to do, taking a few college classes on top of a full work load. I have to write an essay on the Shanameh of Tabriz and need to read this entire epic Persian poem... as well as several academic studies of Persian painting... and yet I would never think to pass off my work on someone else. If you aren't coming here solely to have us do your assignment for you, perhaps (as your first post, no less) you might tell us initially what YOU predict from the title of the poem... what YOU think the theme of the poem is... etc... before trying to pick our brains.

Yours...

Bro I though this forum is for people to help each other. I'm not really good @ English because English is my second language. And It has been 2 years that I've moved from an ESL class to academic level English. And i have to much pressure from everyone on me because of that. I just thought someone could help me with these questions. I have enough homework too. This is just a part of the assignment i have to do. The whole thing is 30 pages. But if you guys cant help thats fine i just appreciate you replying to this thread.

It is a discussion board, not a place where lazy people come to get free answers for homework assigned to them. People here actually are into literature beyond a I need to do my homework to pass level.
