Ode to Frank Sinatra

This is my first post in the Personal Poetry section. I had this song stuck in my head, so i wrote a poem about it. It is rough around the edges becasue I wrote it about four minutes while I waited foir my professor to begin class. It is nothing special.

I've been a puppet:
Work one day at mcDonalds's
and you will understand.

I've been a pauper:
My poor father worked and wore himself thin
to make enough for food but not for bills.

I've been a pirate:
Espically on September 19th, not to mention
all the illegal music downloads.

I've been a poet:
For several years now, I have been writing
during my breaks between classes.

I guess that's life.
