Hello - I am trying to find a poem for my father - he has heard it and knows one verse - "Last night I walked with sons of men in a sombre bitter hall, I have seen the flies on a dead mans eyes settle ere he could fall" (last night may also be today) DO you know how I may find this poem I have tried so many sites with no luck.

google doesn't know the first line at all, or the second line. Perhaps you have the words wrong, or the poem isn't famous.

thank you for your reply - My gran and dad think these are correct and my gran is certain she has read it in a book. I will keep searching
