Does anyone read C. S. Lewis? And if so, what is your favorite book by him?

The Screwtape Letters. 10th gradde English teacher read Screwtape Proposes a Toast and curiousity took over. At the time I was not a believer in the Lord Christ and the book left me with a very dry taste in my mouth so to speak. Just did not know what to make of it.

Fast forward a few years and a Christian now by the grace of the Lord Christ and we try again and it all makes sense now. Lewis had keen insight int the subtle workings on the herat and spirit. The letter on prayer should be required reading at any seminary.

Ahhh... unfortunately I have yet to read beyond Narnia, though I began Screwtape Letters once and found it too difficult at age thirteen. Soon. :)

I haven't read too much C. S. Lewis. I want to read more, but I never seem to get around to it. Out of the few I've read, I think my favorite is Screwtape. I've also read The Great Divorce, the Narnia books and the first of the space trilogy.

I also agree that the Screwtape Letters is probably my favorite. I also enjoy the Chronicles of Narnia. I read Mere Christianity and didn't enjoy it nearly as much as the others I've read. I've read an excerpt from the Great Divorce, and that's been on my "to read" list for awhile--I think it looks so interesting!

Lewis is a definite favorite author of mine; 'The Screwtape LEtters', 'Mere Christianity', 'The Great Divorce', 'The Space Trilogy' (3 books), 'Chronicles...', etc., have all been timeless favorites. Even material like 'The NArnian', with Lewis as the subject' and beyond compare as reading material. Doubtless the century's best Christian autho and theologian...
