Hi, This is my first time posting a thread.

Is anyone familiar with the poem (or song?) by Mason Williams which contains the following phrases:

First you just do it.
Then you do it for fun.
Then you do it seriously.
Then you're done.

I'm not sure if there is more to the poem or not, but I am very interested in finding out. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

My insight would be...this is a fine way to acquire a skill perhaps leaving out the "seriously" part.

Yes a poem by Mason Williams and that's about it. I just heard Tommy Smother's who Mason wrote for on the Smother's Brothers show say this and Dick reminded him of the "PS".

First you just do it.
Then you do it for fun.
Then you do it seriously.
Then you're done.
PS If you do it again, it's redundant
