I have a book report to do and i'm stuck on the diction. My teacher said to discuss whether it's written in a formal or informal manner and how Orwell presents the dialouge.

if anyone can help me, i would REALLY appreciate it!

Well, I would first begin with discussing the differences between the new, abbreviated dialect Orwell proposes through his characters, and the "old" dialect we're familiar with. For instance, the new one is made up of more monosyllabic words, making it sound more informal and Anglo-Saxon. The old is made up of more multisyllabic words, making it sound more formal and Latinate.
