i remember a river
one never seen
a moment of happiness
that might have been
as i float along, drifting forever
within a vessel of regret
my hands rest in water, reaching
for all these things i know i`ll forget
memory may fail, moments lost
even the most beautiful of flowers
will be consumed by the frost
as seconds into hours
the sun pierces through the trees above
columns of warmth flood over the universe
all thoughts forgotten, replaced
locked them away in a sunshine hearse
now i`m free to float along
and endless river of bliss
singing along to lost songs
with time to grant my every wish
